Bandung adalah kota yang sangat dinamis. Pertumbuhan ekonomi-nya selama 5 tahun terakhir (sekitar 8% pertahun) selalu lebih tinggi dari pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional (6%). Sebagian besar pertumbuhan ekonomi tersebut ditopang oleh aktivitas ekonomi di sektor jasa. Sebagai kota jasa, dinamika aktivitas ekonomi di sektor tersebut juga terasa sangat kentara.
