Prof. Dr. Armida Alisjahbana

Prof. Armida Alisjahbana is a Professor of economics at the Department of Economics, Padjadjaran University. She has been a researcher at CEDS since 1991. Prof. Alisjahbana earned her bachelor degree in economics and development studies from Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia (1985), a Masters degree in economics from Northwestern University, USA (1987), and a Ph.D in economics from University of Washington, USA (1994). Prof. Alisjahbana’s research interest is in the area of environmental and resource economics, labor economics, decentralization and her recent research topic is on the Labor market issues of non-farm enterprises. Prof. Alisjahbana is a former Director of CEDS and is currently the State Minister of National Development Planning/head of BAPPENAS and President of Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA).
