Prof. Sutyastie Soemitro Remi is a Professor of economics at the Department of Economics, Padjadjaran University. She has been a researcher at CEDS since 1981. Prof. Remi earned her bachelor degree in development economics from Padjadjaran University, Indonesia (1978), a Masters degree in agriculture economics from Padjadjaran University, Indonesia (1986), and a Ph.D in agriculture economics from Padjadjaran University, Indonesia (1996). Prof. Remi’s research interest is in the area of human resource, poverty, health, population economics and her recent research topic is on household consumption pattern, rural Unemployment and household saving pattern in urban and rural at West Java. Prof. Remi is currently also Secretary of Senate of Padjadjaran University, Java-Bali Coordinator of Indonesian Economist Association (ISEI), Rector of Jakarta Sahid University.
