The Global Development Network (GDN) is inviting applications from multi-disciplinary research teams to undertake a systematic study of the research environment in developing countries. The research project is generously supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Government of France, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

The research grant will provide a unique opportunity to undertake collaborative research on one of the least researched areas in social science.
- 6 to 7 successful applications will be entitled to a grant of up to US$ 43,000 depending on the scope of the study.
- The winning research teams will also benefit from intensive technical support and networking opportunities throughout the grant performance period, from inception to completion.
- Your studies could feed into important research policy debates and reforms with the goal of facilitating a more conducive research environment for high quality, policy relevant research around the world.
