CEDS and EEPSEA continue to work in partnership to improve academic publications
Under the leadership of CEDS and with the support of the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA), capacity building program in the application of economic modeling in environmental and natural resource management for Southeast Asian researchers continues.
The capacity building program started as a two-weeks training in CGE modeling for Southeast Asian researchers held in Bandung in 2011. As a follow-up of the training, four research projects was funded by EEPSEA and supervised by CEDS. The research now is at the stage of dissemination and publications.
As part of the dissemination stage, researchers from various countries in Southeast Asia are working together this week (25-28 February, 2012) in Hue, Vietnam to finalize the publication of research reports, journal articles, and policy briefs from the research findings. The workshop by attended by 25 researchers from such countries as Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, and Indonesia.
Indonesian researchers who attended this workshop are Professor Luthfi Fatah (Lambung Mangkurat University), Dr. Hermanto (Ministry of Agriculture), Mr. Ahmad Komarulzaman (CEDS, Universitas Padjadjaran) and Dr. Arief Anshory Yusuf (EEPSEA/CEDS).
Mr. Ahmad Komarulzaman, CEDS researcher, emphasizes the benefit of this kind of workshop as he can learn from other country researchers on various aspects of research dissemination. This includes on how we can use different strategies of writing to different audiences such as academic communities and policy makers.
