CEDS has been engaged in various collaboration with institutions in Australia, Europe and Southeast Asian countries. Recent initiatives include research partnership with The Australian National University, King’s College London, and European-based TNO and ICRE8. Through a network of Economy and the Environment Institutes (EEI), Southeast Asian research network on environmental economics will also be strengthened.

CEDS has been leading the initiative to extend the outreach of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies (BIES) – a high-impact journal on Indonesian economy – across institutions in Indonesia in collaboration with the Indonesia Project, The Australian National University. Dr. Budy Resosudarmo, The head of Indonesia project is also listed as a Research Associate in CEDS, UNPAD. CEDS director, Dr. Arief Anshory Yusuf, has been an adjunct/visiting fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy, The Australian National University, Australia for many years.

CEDS partnership goes beyond Australia to Europe. The International Development Institute of King’s College London, a top university in UK has been a strategic research partner of CEDS. Dr. Andy Sumner, the institute’s co-director is one of CEDS research associates/visiting fellow. CEDS Director, Dr. Arief Anshory Yusuf is also a visiting fellow at the International Development Institute of King’s College London. At least four King’s College researcher have visited CEDS UNPAD to do research activities or gave seminars.

CEDS has also recently been engaged as official collaborating institution of a Greece-based research center, ICRE8 (The International Centre for Research on the Environment and the Economy). It is a newly established non-for-profit, private, Research Centre dedicated to interdisciplinary research on the Environment, Energy, Economy, Eco-innovations.  ICRE8 has been supported by renowned environmental economists from across European countries and lead by Prof. Phoebe Koundouri of Athens University of Economics and Business and London-based, LSE.

More recently, CEDS has also been engaged in research collaboration with one of the biggest European-based think tank, TNO. TNO is an independent research organisation that employs thousand specialists which focuses on transitions or changes in five social themes: Industry; Healthy Living; Defence, Safety & Security; Urbanisation and Energy. TNO is headquarted in Netherland but employs at least 3,000 scientists from across European countries.

In Southeast Asia, CEDS will also host the Economy and Environment Institute Indonesia (EEII), a joint initiative of several Indonesian institutions in partnership with the Southeast Asian prominent research network, EEPSEA. EEII will be one of many institutes from Southeast Asian contries to form the EEP (Economy-and-Environment-Partnership) headquartered in Vietnam.
